Provence, France (Episode #43)
High in the hills above the Cote D'Azur,
we visit the homes of fine food and fine perfumes, both such every
day stimulants for the senses. The Grasse region has been home
to the world's finest perfumes since the 16th Century. We visit
the Mane Fils company, family owned for four generations and chat
with president, Jean Mane and see the how fields of roses, jasmine
and lavender are turned into our most personal of luxuries. Then,
off to the cooking school of Patricia Robinson, where guests and
students visit through the summer to learn Tricia's culinary skills
at her Taste of Provence villa. The scenery around this region,
is a wondrous sight for the traveler, where we see the medieval
mountain top villages of Gourdon and St. Paul de Vence.
