Athens, Greece (Episode #48)
We visit this most historic of cities and
discover the ancient, and the modern. Visitors can wander the Parthenon
and the Acropolis in the morning and then shop for the latest fashions
and most current jewelry. In the afternoon, we join Athenians in
their relaxed approach to life, with their vibrant café life,
playing backgammon and enjoying iced coffee. We see two sides of
Athenians looking to the future: the up and coming Semeli winery,
where English winemaker Anne Kokotos is breaking new ground every
day and the new favorite restaurant Aristeria Dexia (the "right
and left"), packed every night with the city's glamorous crowd searching
for the most exciting of New Athens cuisine.
