St. Lucia, Caribbean (Episode #59)
Sandals provides the sumptuous luxury of
the 155-acre resort with the Caribbean's largest swimming pool and
its private golf course. Executive Chef Thomas Anderson shows off
his skills in the kitchen, while guests relax and play in some of
the Windward Isles' most beautiful waters. Later, we accompany Chef
Anderson as he tours the Castries Produce Market with its daily
displays of exotic fruits and vegetables offered by their colourful
vendors.
We tour the coast to view the majestic coastal mountain peaks of
The Grand and Petite Pitons. Then, we travel inland through the
mountainous rainforest and on to St. Lucia's fertile valleys where
we visit one of its largest banana plantations.
Our second feature restaurant is JJ's Bar and Restaurant in picturesque
Marigot Bay where we uncover St. Lucia's newest hotspot. We also
visit local artist Daniel Jean Baptiste whose unique form of painting
island scenes on Chines silk captures everyone's attention. We celebrate
the legacy of the late S. Bagshaw where we see his designs still
used today on fine linens and sea island cottons. |
